Project Summary
Intelligent base-layer construction package for runway upgrading, integrating precision compaction workflow, section-level quality traceability, and high-availability equipment operation within strict airport maintenance windows.
The Singapore airport runway base upgrading project required a highly controlled construction process under short maintenance shutdown windows. The contractor needed not only reliable equipment output, but also repeatable process control for base-layer uniformity and fast quality acceptance in each operational section.
Huiteng configured a solution focused on high-frequency compaction equipment, edge and joint processing tools, and process-oriented operation recommendations. The workflow was designed around section turnover speed, rolling-path consistency, and interface treatment standards so that each completed segment could quickly enter inspection and next-step paving preparation.
To match airport operational requirements, the project team adopted a night-shift intensive schedule with strict zone isolation and rapid mobilization. Our equipment maintained steady performance in repeated start-stop cycles and tight work windows, supporting efficient completion of multiple runway and taxiway base segments without disrupting daytime airside operations.
In the quality-control dimension, the client emphasized data-driven acceptance and reduced variability across teams. Through standardized operation parameters, training templates, and spare-parts readiness support, the project achieved improved compaction consistency and handover predictability. The owner assessed this approach as a practical benchmark for subsequent intelligent airfield paving phases.
